Departure to Thailand - 2 days long

Danae and I are going to create a blog of our travels to Southeast Asia. That way, our friends and families can be updated regarding our travels. Just to give you a run down of our itinerary:

  1. Aug 3 - Fly from Miami to Atlanta to Seoul, Korea
  2. Aug 4 - Arrive in Bangkok, Thailand
  3. Aug 7 - Fly to Singapore
  4. Aug 10 - Fly to Bali, Indonesia
  5. Aug 13 - Fly to Kuala lumpur, Malaysia
  6. Aug 16 - Fly to Chang Mai, Thailand
  7. Aug 19 - Fly to Bangkok, Thailand
  8. Aug 23 - Fly to Miami

Our luggage
Apparently when you are flying Delta internationally, a checked bag can weigh no more than 50 lbs! It seems like a lot, but not really when you factor in 15 lbs worth of suitcase and 3 weeks of clothing, 50 lbs is really limiting. I was originally 20 lbs over, so Clayton made me redo the bags. To verify the weight, Clayton kept standing on the scale with our bags. When we were over, we had to pack and re-pack to make the cut.  At least once we got to MIA, we were in the clear: Clayton's bag was 45 lbs (with some of my excess stuff) and mine was 48 lbs (wooh). Success!

Danae waiting for the flight

We taxied to the airport and arrived at 5:30AM Wednesday for our flight. Just to put it into perspective, we will not arrive in Bangkok until 9:30PM Thursday!

We are sitting in the airport bar in Atlanta, having a beer at 11:42am. It may be early, but I stayed up all night and Danae only had 2 hours of sleep. So its not really that early after all. Besides, its 10:42PM in Thailand right now, so we are trying to acclimate our bodies. Plus, we want to be able to sleep on our 14 hour flight to Korea.
